Professor Jose Ramon Barros Cantalice of Environmental Engineering Graduate Program of the UFRPE recently had published an Editorial in the Advances in Materials Science and Engineering Journal entitled Bioengineering Materials for Environment Protection in a Changing Climate (https://doi.org/10.1155/2019/7065719) on which he was a Guest Editor working together Professor Donatella Termini, that will come to UFRPE by CAPES-PRINT-UFRPE Program. This special journal publication highlighted that nowadays one of the environmental problems determined by warmer temperatures is the change of the hydrological regime which determines changes in precipitation levels and patterns. In the matter of the environmental engineering, which is the branch of engineering focusing on the previously mentioned procedures and technical solutions, advanced bioengineering materials and combined techniques are needed to reduce the human impact on the environment. The special present issue received contributions representing new ideas on innovative materials and advanced technologies in the area of environmental engineering.
